The talk is inspired by the book Modern Buddhism: the Path of Wisdom and Compassion. This book, by renowned author and meditation master, Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, is a special presentation of Buddha’s teachings on compassion and wisdom that communicates their essence in a way that is easy to understand and put into practice.
The New Kadampa Tradition – International Buddhist Union organizes various events and public talks on Modern Buddhism around the globe with the intention to offer practical advice to make ourselves and others happy. Between January 2012 to January 2013, Gen-la visited Canada where she gave several public talks to over 1000 people, in Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and various other cities. Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong is a Buddhist nun who is an internationally renowned meditation teacher. She has been studying under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso for over 30 years. She is much loved for her pure example and practical and inspiring teachings adapted for everyone, whatever nationality, gender or age.
